Can law enforcement view facebook profiles? Busted, Plausible, or Confirmed?

Other than your privacy settings being open to more than "friends only", one of your friend's being a nark, court ordered and subpoena, is there any way for law enforcement to view facebook profiles?

There there has been some recent college parties that were busted and the rumor is they were busted due to being posted as events on facebook.

My friend has an uncle that works for the highway patrol and apparently he says that he can view her whole profile (wall, pictures, etc) even though they are limited to friend's only.

I know that high schools give email addresses to their resource officers so they can create facebook accounts under that network. This would allow them to see anyone's profile that did not have it locked to "friend's only"

On their site the creators maintain they have a strict privacy policy. http://www.facebook.com/policy.php Is there any validity to law enforcement being able to access "friends only" profiles?

yes i have heard of that and also i have heard of employees checking up on staff on the facebook - even those going for a job have been checked up on first
Reply:Yes, I could see that for sure. Cops have busted parties because people make them 'events' on facebook. The Government probablys lurks everyones profiles.
